The following properties of the Shunt Capacitor can be changed or viewed:

1.Name, Number and Description,

2.Capacitor Size (MVAr/kVAr) per phase,

3.Available Capacitor Banks,

4.Banks in service,

5.Enable Automatic Capacitor Bank Switching ,

6.Scale Factor,

7.Fault Contribution,

8.Display Options.

To Place a Shunt Capacitor:

With the mouse click on the Shunt Capacitor Button on the Toolbar or use the Shunt Capacitor command from the Network main menu. A Shunt Capacitor data dialog box will appear.  Enter all the relevant information and Click on a Bus Bar in the project from where the Shunt Capacitor is to be Connected.

Automatic Capacitor Bank Switching:

The Total capacitance = Capacitor Size * Banks in Service

Enabling automatic capacitor switching results in the switching in/out of capacitor banks in order to control the busbar voltage.
