Pull-down menus (menus, for short) are used in PowaMaster to activate commands.
To open a menu, point the mouse pointer at the menu name in the menu bar and press the left mouse button. With the menu open, drag the mouse pointer over the menu item and press and release the left mouse button.
If you decide not to choose any item, drag the pointer off the menu and release the button.
Some items on the menu may be dimmed. You cannot choose a dimmed menu item. When certain conditions are met, a dimmed menu item will be enabled and can be chosen.
In each menu name and menu item, one character is underlined. That character is the mnemonic access character. It identifies the keyboard key that can be pressed to open the menu or choose the menu item.
For example, to choose Open from the File menu, press <Alt+F> to display the File menu, and then <O> to choose Open.
Keyboard accelerators / shortcuts are also provided for choosing some menu items. Accelerators / shortcuts are shown to the right of menu items. Pressing <Ctrl-O>, for example, chooses Open from the Main File menu.
Each Item has a pop-up menu selection available. The menu will differ, depending on the type of the item.
To access the menu, right click on the particular item. A pop-up menu will appear which allows the user some options to choose from.
All items have an Edit & Result menu selection.
Only Branches, Transformers, Loads & Generators have a Status option.
The Fault Option is only available for a Busbar.
Edit
The Edit option is used to change the item's properties. Once Edit is chosen, a dialog box will appear containing the particular information for the specific item. This information can be changed and is effective once the OK button has been clicked.
Result
The Result option is used to view the results specific to the chosen item.
Status
The status of an item (Open/Close) can be toggled by right clicking on the item and selecting the status option.
Fault
To do a Fault Study, a Busbar must be selected and the Fault Enabled to do a Fault Study. If the user wants to simulate simultaneous faults, the Fault option on multiple busbars can be enabled before the fault study is executed.
