Transformer Modelling

Field

Field Description

Quantity

Quantity of selected transformer type to be modelled in parallel

Description

Built automatically from the other specifications

Section

Specifications

Auto Transformer

Switch the selected transformer into an Autotransformer with the facility to specify grounding.

If this is checked, a "Grounded" check box appears, which, in turn, affects the "Vector Group & Grounding Groupbox.

Rating

Normal Rating of the Transformer in MVA. This rating is ONAN (Oil Natural, Air Natural).

Primary Voltage

The primary voltage of the transformer

Secondary Voltage

The secondary voltage of the transformer

Overload

Permissible transformer overload in pu.

This can be used to indicate the transformer's emergency rating or ONAF, OFAF, etc. rating. (Oil Forced, Air Forced)

% Internal Boost

Specify the percentage internal voltage boost of the transformer

User Code

Definable User Code

Section

Impedances

Positive Sequence Impedance %

Positive sequence impedance in percentage from the transformer's name plate information

Positive Sequence X to R ratio

Positive sequence Reactance to Resistance ratio.

Zero Sequence Impedance %

Zero sequence impedance in percentage from the transformer's name plate information

Zero Sequence X to R ratio

Zero sequence Reactance to Resistance ratio.

Section

Magnetizing

No Load Loss

As a % of the Transformer rating

No Load Current

As a % of the Rated Current

Zo Magnetizing

Zero Sequence Magnetizing that will be used in Y/YN or YN/Y fault calculations

Section

Vector Group and Grounding

HV Transformer Type / Earthing

Transformer Type and Earthing arrangement for the primary windings of the transformer,

eg : Star earthed would be : YN.

HV Earthing Impedance

Impedance values for the primary earthing equipment

HV Earthing Reactance

Reactance values for the primary earthing equipment

LV Transformer Type / Earthing

Transformer Type and Earthing arrangement for the secondary windings of the transformer,

eg : Delta earthed would be : DN.

LV Earthing Impedance

Impedance values for the secondary earthing equipment

LV Earthing Reactance

Reactance values for the secondary earthing equipment

HV-LV Phase Shift (deg)

Angle Phase shift of the Transformer from Primary to Secondary

Section

Tap Settings (See Also:Transformer Tap Changer Modelling)

Primary / Secondary Tap

Specify whether the tap is on the primary or secondary winding of the transformer

Physical Taps

Choice between physical or percentages for tap positions and specifications

Lock Tap

Prevent or allow tap position from changing automatically

Number

Total number of taps available to tap

Nominal

The nominal tap position of the tap changer

Step

the % voltage step value of the tap changer

Position

The selected tap position of the tap changer

Minimum Voltage

Minimum voltage as a percentage for the tap change control

Maximum Voltage

Maximum voltage as a percentage for the tap change control

Controlled Bus

Select a bus for line drop compensation control.
