Overview Window

The Overview Window adds more Search functionality:

Double clicking an item such as a busbar in the overview window, makes that item the selected item and changes the overview display to show all elements connected directly to it.

Right clicking any item in the overview window allows the user to select from a pop-up menu to

oedit the element directly,

ofind the element in the main screen or

odisplay the results for that element.

oOpen Google Maps at the location of a busbar which has its co-ordinates filled in. (The GPS option will be greyed out when the busbar doesn't have co-ordinates entered.)

Each element and branch displays relevant results specified in Options

Find

Select the Search, Find command from the main menu.

A selection list will be provided which can be filtered using the appropriate check-boxes.

Select a name or description from this list and press the Find Button to locate the item. The item and its connected components will be displayed in the right hand window as an overview of the network.

Each displayed item can be edited directly by pressing the Edit Button, by double clicking the item in the right hand window or by right clicking and selecting Edit from the pop-up menu.

Double clicking an item also changes the display to make the clicked item the selected one.

Clicking the Find Button or right clicking the item and selecting find from the pop-up menu will locate the item in the main screen, colour it red and position it as close to the centre of the workspace as is possible.

The status of valid items can also be toggled by right clicking the said item and selecting status from the pop-up menu.

The supplied Name and Number boxes can be used to limit a selection containing only certain Name & Numbers.

To use an example, inserting “B” into the name box, will cause only item names beginning with “B” to be displayed.

Results can also be displayed automatically if the Show Results check-box is enabled.
