Single Bus or Element Copying

There are two methods of copying a single bus or element.

1.With the mouse, right-click on the selected bus or element. The pull-down menu presented will have a 'Copy' option. Left-click on the copy option. The selected bus turns grey to indicate that it has been copied.

2.With the keyboard, once a bus has been selected with a mouse left-click, press Ctrl+C. The selected bus turns grey to indicate that it has been copied.

Note:

1.All elements attached Only to the selected bus will be copied, Elements, such as Transformers or Conductors, which are also in turn connected to another busbar, will not be copied, but all other devices such as motors, loads, sources, co-generators will be copied.

Group Copying

To Select everything in the Project, use the Select All  Command from the Edit Main Menu OR just Press Ctrl+A.

To Select areas of the network use the Select tool and drag a window around the area to be selected.

To Remove or Add items to be copied, hold the Shift Key while clicking on the items with the left button.

Items forming part of the Group Copy will turn grey. Press Ctrl+C to copy the selected areas.

Note:

1.Using the Mouse right-click to effect the group copy will result in only the busbar that was right-clicked and its attached elements being copied. In order to copy an area, the user must use Ctrl+C to copy.

2.When selecting an area to copy, the top left corner of the selected block becomes the "focal point". When pasting this block, the position of the Mouse Pointer is taken as the position for the "focal point" of the block to be pasted.

Cutting

Selection of elements or groups of elements works in the same way as above.

To select an individual bus bar to cut and paste elsewhere, press Ctrl while left-clicking the bus bar. The bus bar will turn grey to indicate that it has been selected. Click Edit on the menu and then click Cut. The busbar and the elements attached directly to it will disappear.

Cut can also be performed by using the Ctrl+X keys on the keyboard.

Note:

1.Elements such as transformers and protection devices between the selected bus bar and the bus bar upstream from it, will be lost.

2.Only elements connected directly to the selected bus bar will be copied across to the new location.

Pasting

For a single element, right-click on the destination bus and left-click on paste. Please remember that individual elements can only be pasted onto an existing bus.

For a selected area, right-click on a spot on the work area where you would like to paste and press Ctrl+V.

Note:

1.Right-clicking the mouse in the work area will reset the screen and not bring up a menu, so the user must use Ctrl+V to paste.

2.For a group copy, when Ctrl-V is pressed, the position of the mouse pointer will be where the top left corner of the selected block, or "focal point", will be pasted.
